Orkney Calling!

Posted September 4, 2018 by Willa Blair in Uncategorized / 2 Comments

While in Scotland in July, I visited the Orkney Library and Archives in Kirkwall to bring them a set of my His Highland Heart series books and meet the folks behind the often hilarious tweets and Twitter exchanges with the Shetland Library. If you don’t follow both of them on Twitter, you’re missing out! I’m thrilled to have had the chance to visit and honored to have my books in Orkney Library’s collection.

After months of being entertained by the clever sparring between @OrkneyLibrary and @ShetlandLibrary on Twitter, I got an opportunity to visit Kirkwall, Orkney. I was not going to miss this chance, and arrived bearing gifts!

They were lovely hosts. My special thanks to Louise, who showed me around and gave me an Orkney Library tote bag — a treasured souvenir!

What a thrill to see my books on display at the Orkney Library and Archives! From a recent tweet:

Someday, I’ll return to Orkney and bring more books. I hope to visit Shetland, too. You never know!

In the meantime, I’ll be following both on Twitter!

Ohhh…a tote! One of my biggest weaknesses! Wanted to pop in and say Howdy Neighbor. Been in the area for 8 years now and have yet to make it to Helotes. Enjoying my rain up here in the New Braunfels hills. Love your stories. My kindle is always kept loaded. Sadly, nothing from you lately. Keep up the good work. My kindle thanks you.

    • Thanks, Cyndye! I get to the Red Oak Bakery in New Braunfels now and again to stock up on gluten-free goodies. It’s really good! After publishing 3 books last year, this year I’ve taken a bit of a travel and life break, but am slowly getting back to writing. Stand by. There will be more books! Cheers, Willa
