While in Scotland in July, I visited the Orkney Library and Archives in Kirkwall to bring them a set of my His Highland Heart series books and meet the folks behind the often hilarious tweets and Twitter exchanges with the Shetland Library. If you don’t follow both of them on Twitter, you’re missing out! I’m thrilled to have had the chance to visit and honored to have my books in Orkney Library’s collection.
After months of being entertained by the clever sparring between @OrkneyLibrary and @ShetlandLibrary on Twitter, I got an opportunity to visit Kirkwall, Orkney. I was not going to miss this chance, and arrived bearing gifts!
They were lovely hosts. My special thanks to Louise, who showed me around and gave me an Orkney Library tote bag — a treasured souvenir!
What a thrill to see my books on display at the Orkney Library and Archives! From a recent tweet:
We love it when authors bring us books.
A few weeks ago Willa Blair came all the way from Texas to visit us in #Orkney and she brought us copies of her Highland Heart series. Available to borrow now. ? pic.twitter.com/CBjbGlf1gJ

Someday, I’ll return to Orkney and bring more books. I hope to visit Shetland, too. You never know!
In the meantime, I’ll be following both on Twitter!
