We’re getting close to the end of Six Sentence Sundays. January 27th will be the last one done by the group (see the link below to other authors participating). My hope is that someone else will take it on and run it. If not, should I continue here – just for my readers? What do you think?
This week, I’m sharing a snippet from my second book in the Highland Talents series, Highland Seer. Jamie Lathan and Donal McNabb see their destination for the first time, and it’s more than they expected. But they have good reason to expect a welcome.
Enjoy this week’s Six Sentence Sunday!
“Can we be sure of our welcome here?” Jamie asked quietly.
“We’re bringin’ home their whisky and their menfolk,” Donal groused. “His gratitude had better include answering a few questions, like why we’re havin’ to bring home his wounded.” At Jamie’s raised eyebrow, he continued. “Once they ken how charming we are, there shouldna be any problems.”
Jamie grinned and shook his head.
Behind him, Bram choked back a laugh and began coughing.

I’m intrigued by Bram. Is he one of the wounded who overheard the conversation or does he know something more than they’ve said? And someone is starting an “unofficial six sentence sunday” event. Here’s the sign-up list, if you’re interested. http://www.skyewarren.com/six/ (I happened upon it while reading through the 6SS entries. I don’t know who she/they are, I’m only sharing information. Hope this helps.)
Thanks, Kimberly, for the info on the unofficial Six Sentence Sunday. I signed up! Bram is part of their party and knows that charm is not Donal’s strong suit. Hence the choked-off laughter.
